Make Your Own Easter Wreath!
A little idea and tutorial for you, if you want to decorate your home for Easter with a very easy and simple wreath!
For several years now, my favorite decorations (and the only ones I’m willing to place in my home) are natural, mostly and preferably foraged, and that can be composted or thrown away after use! That’s the best part for me, so I don’t have to store away anything, less work and more breathing space, and I have lots of fun making new ones every time! :)
So, this is what I’ve come up with this year. I literally did this today! It’s the perfect super-quick and easy project, even for beginners!
Step 1. I boiled quail eggs, a few in water, a few in water and blueberries (to obtain that lovely natural green color). Put 6-7 smashed blueberries (I used the rotten ones in the package) in the water, and let the eggs boil for about 15 minutes or more, depending on the color you want to achieve. I removed three eggs after 15 minutes, and I left three in the cooling water for another 10 minutes or so, ending up with a darker green.
Step 2. Gather your tools and supplies. I used vintage ribbons, scissors, a hot glue gun, a pre-made wreath, some moss (ABSOLUTELY NOT foraged! Never ever ever forage moss in the wild, but buy it at your local garden center), a few olive tree twigs, and finally, foraged dried grasses turned into a nest (just twist and turn them in your hand, and voilĂ ! :)).
Step 3. Before gluing everything, I always like to try the arrangement I’d love to create, so that when I plug in the hot glue gun, I’m ready to go!
Step 4. Glue the moss to the wreath. Be careful to not burn your fingers! :)
Step 5. Attach the olive tree twigs with a length of ribbon, and then glue the nest to the wreath. Add some moss in the middle of the nest, and glue it down as well.
Step 6. Glue down the eggs in the middle of the nest, and add moss here and there to hide the glue. Use scissors to add a length of ribbon to the rear of the wreath for hanging.
Step 7. Tie a double knot and add other ribbons to create a lovely bow.
VoilĂ ! Your wreath is done!
