Following my Bliss, One Sketch at a Time
This I know. I want to live my life on my own terms, being happy, feeling good and following my bliss, and I want to sketch, draw and paint on a daily basis. Whether it is documenting my life and travels, capturing the Beauty I see around me, or dreaming out loud of my imaginary life and travels, my sketching practice is so.much.fun and one of the things in life that makes me the happiest!
If you’re passionate about sketching, or you’re a beginner and this idea has crossed your mind before… then you are in the right place. I can’t wait to share my passion with you!
I GOT MY JOY BACK BY KEEPING A SKETCHBOOK!
During a dull moment of my life when I had lost all my hopes and zest for life, and my enthusiasm for art- I got my JOY back by drawing, painting and dreaming in my sketchbook!
One day, I stopped being complacent with the negative thought cycle and depression I had spiraled into, and I decided to follow my heart and my bliss, quit doing whatever I was doing, and just play with abandon. I grabbed a sketchbook and started drawing and painting with no outcome in mind. With no pressure to be perfect, to make a finished piece or any sort of plan in mind. I just went with the flow, and I kept going! And in no time, I was my happy, hopeful and bubbly self again. This taught me a lot about the power of drawing and painting freely, experimenting without attachment to the outcome, and doing what our heart craves for, no matter how illogical or impractical it might seem.
It was right then and there that the path I had to follow found me. I had to share with others this creative practice that changed my life, and all the skills from my 30+ year experience as an artist and almost daily painter that could allow them to keep a sketchbook easily, effortlessly and most importantly… joyfully.
If your heart flutters just thinking of sketchbooks, of drawing and painting freely, then grab your art supplies, and let’s play together! :)
